Individual Psychotherapy
1. Who can do it
Anyone over 18 who doesn't feel good about life or their relationship with it.
2. Situations that may lead someone to therapy.
The situations that lead someone to seek professional help are diverse. Some of the most common examples are: anxiety, depression, relationship problems, communication problems, grief, study and career issues, lack of motivation, sleep and eating problems, curiosity about self-knowledge and becoming a better person.
3. How do I work
Based on your needs, I define therapeutic goals and strategies for your process. I work honestly and collaboratively, creating a light and supportive environment where we can grow together and achieve your goals.
4. How it works
Psychotherapy is different from medical treatment. There is no set formula or exact number of sessions for the process to work. Each person has their own pace, their own history, and their own needs.
Therefore, I like to think of therapy as a process of construction. Little by little, we better understand what is happening, identifying patterns of thoughts and behaviors and developing new ways of dealing with situations and our own emotions.
From my clinical experience, I notice that many people begin to notice important changes over the first few weeks, such as greater awareness of what they feel, more clarity about what is happening internally, and a greater ability to cope with emotions. In many cases, these changes become more noticeable around the first 10 sessions, but this can vary considerably from person to person.
Initially, I usually recommend a weekly 50-minute session. This frequency helps build rapport, gives continuity to the process, and allows us to monitor changes more closely.
But I also consider it important that therapy be feasible within each person's reality. Therefore, when weekly sessions aren't viable, we can discuss the possibility of ever other week meetings.
More than following a set number of sessions, the goal is to build a process that makes sense for you, respecting your current situation, your needs, and your pace.
